These generous awards are aimed at fully funding you if you are from a developing country and will study a full-time Masters degree at the University. Particular preference will be given to you if you can demonstrate how the knowledge you acquire from your studies will aid the development of your own country.

The UCL UPC Progression Scholarships aims to encourage UPCSE (University Preparatory Certificate for Science and Engineering) and UPCH (University Preparatory Certificate for Humanities and Social Sciences) students to continue to undergraduate study at UCL, and recruit new students into UCL’s UPCSE and UPCH programmes.


UCL normally offers one new UPCSE and one new UPCH Progression Scholarship each session.
Eligibility Requirements

Candidates will be
* enrolled on UCL’s UPCSE or UPCH programme
* admitted for undergraduate studies at UCL

Selection Criteria
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance. The selected scholars will be the UPCSE/UPCH students with the highest academic performance throughout the UPCSE/UPCH programme. Financial circumstances are not taken into account.
Value: Benefits and Duration

The scholarships consist of £5,000 per annum for the duration of the undergraduate programme. Scholarships will be applied to fees with any remainder paid as a maintenance allowance.

Annual renewal of the scholarships is based on satisfactory progress of the scholars who are expected to maintain an academic standard equivalent to at least an upper second class honours (2:1) throughout the undergraduate programme.
Application Procedure and Deadline

There is no application procedure. All UCL UPCSE/UPCH students holding an offer of admission for undergraduate studies at UCL will be considered.
Notification of Results

The UCL Language Centre will make its recommendation in July, and the successful candidates can expect to be officially notified by the end of August.

UCL Global Excellence Scholarships aim to reward academic excellence among new UCL students.


There are a total of 16 scholarships per session for the academically most outstanding undergraduate and graduate students joining UCL. Students enrolling on joint programmes (programmes run by UCL and another university) are not eligible. One undergraduate and one graduate award is reserved for students from each of the following regions (based on students’ domicile – on UCAS forms this would be “area of permanent residence”).

* The UK
* Europe (excluding the UK, but including Russia)
* Africa
* the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East
* China, North- and Central South-East Asia
* Australasia
* North America
* Central and South America including the Caribbean

Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be
* admitted to UCL for degree study at any level

Selection Criteria
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, achievement and potential. Financial circumstances of the candidates are not taken into account.

Value: Benefits and Duration
The scholarships consist of £5,000, and are tenable for one year only. Scholarship funds may be applied to fees or paid out in three instalments payable at the start of each term.
